Being an old European city, the roads are quite narrow here in Leskovac. Also, except for the main shopping streets, footpaths can be narrow or even non-existent.
As a result, most people walk along the road. Even if there is a short length of footpath, they don't bother using it as it will disappear very soon, so they just stay on the road. However, as the roads are also narrow, when most cars are struggling to pass each other at the best of times, do the pedestrians make an effort to get out of the road?
Heck no!

That is what amazes me about lots of places in Europe - they don't have all the rules etc that we have (or they ignore them) but everyone still manages. I bet they don't get many pedestrians run down.
