The bed is quite hard, so woke up with some stiff joints because of it. Apart from a few interruptions, had a reasonable night’s sleep, considering. Breakfast at the hotel (full English) was on the house, as we had complained about the lack of hot water the day before. Headed off back into town to the Tower of London, to spend some detail time at a few locations. Arrived at the Tower just after opening, & caught the first Yeoman tour. Unfortunately, as it was a Sunday, the church was not open, but everything else was great. As expected, Helen was in 7th heaven looking at the Crown Jewels. Adam was more interested in the jewel encrusted swords. In another area there were displays of the horses the different kings rode, which also kept Helen entertained. I reckon her perfect day would be combing the two, ie riding a diamond encrusted horse!
Caught the tour bus again to Whitehall, to check out the Royal Horseguards. Walked to Westminster Abbey, but again, as it was Sunday, it was not open to tourists. However, it was open to worshippers. Helen saw people being let in, so asked if we could go in & look around. The guard said no tourists, but it was ok to worship, so Helen said we wanted to worship, so he let us in! I felt a little uncomfortable about this, but I am sure he gets it all the time. We only spent 10 mins inside, and would like to get back tomorrow to get a proper look.
After we left, it was starting to rain, so by the time we got to Buck Palace, we were a bit wet & miserable from the cold. A couple of quick photos to prove we were there, then back onto the bus to go to Harrods. Wandered around Harrods a little bit, mainly in the deli hall & the jewellery section, but were running out of time. I am sure Helen could have spent a couple of days in there, but Adam & I were running out of patience. Back on the bus to get back to the Tower to get home, but the traffic was horrendous, so we ended up abandoning the bus on Piccadilly, & catching the Tube home. Still only got home after 8pm, with everyone cold & tired. Dinner was just some sandwiches from the local Marks & Spencer.

Very impressed with how you are keeping the blog up to date so far! London is a fascinating place to visit. And I remember thinking about the crown jewels and being unable to believe that jewels that large were real!
